Auditions & Choreography Rehearsals

Performance Opportunities & Commitment for All.

In keeping with our belief in Education through Experience, we recognize that many dancers are eager to apply their class training in the creative and collaborative process of performance. While Momentum is primarily a commitment to consistent weekly class training, we are excited to offer optional choreography opportunities throughout the school year—both onsite and offsite—for dancers who wish to extend their learning and perform onstage.

Each season, dancers will have the opportunity to audition for multiple Choreography Showcases. Participation in any showcase involves a finite rehearsal period, with a rehearsal fee ranging from $75 to $195, depending on the scope of the project. While not required of Momentum Company dancers, these projects are a wonderful way to bring classwork to life on stage—when a dancer’s interest and schedule allow.

Being part of a choreography project means being part of a team. Rehearsals are not only about learning steps—they are about building trust, timing, and teamwork. When you commit to a rehearsal process, you’re committing not only to your own growth, but to the success of the entire ensemble. The absence of even one dancer can impact the progress of the whole group.

This commitment should only be made after confirming with your family and reviewing your schedule to ensure that, barring illness, you can attend all predetermined rehearsals and performances associated with the piece.

For students transitioning from BAC Emersion, where class and choreography were a combined expectation, this structure marks a new phase: weekly training in Momentum is the foundation, and choreography becomes a selective, time-bound experience open to all dancers through rolling auditions.

Audition and Showcase dates will be announced in late summer.
