Performance Program

The Performance Program at Ensemble Dance Collective offers two unique pathways for dedicated students and up to pursue their dance training at a more serious level: Momentum and Competition

Offering education through experience, a pre-professional training environment, and rigorous study in an encouraging setting, our Performance Program is for students who choose dance as their primary focus and would like to pursue additional classes, workshops, master classes, and performances throughout the dance year.

Entrance into either Performance Program is by audition annually and students may audition for one or both. Once accepted, students will commit to a required number of classes per week, as well as additional classes, rehearsals, activities, and performances.

Momentum I & II

The Momentum Performance Program is designed for students who would like to focus on their mastery of technique, technical skill, and artistry for performances and professional goals.

Our flagship performance-focused training program, Momentum I and Momentum II are designed for dancers with aspirations of pursuing advanced training and careers in the arts. Momentum I and II will offer rigorous, high-quality instruction that emphasizes technical excellence, artistry, and goal-setting. Through mentorship, performance opportunities, and a focus on personal and collective growth, we prepare young dancers to thrive in professional settings while fostering discipline, creativity, and a passion for the art of dance.

Competition Teams

The Competition Performance Program is designed for students interested in entering and excelling in competitions and will focus on choreography, technical skill, and rehearsal.

For dancers who thrive in the spotlight, our Competition Teams offer exciting opportunities to take the stage in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Musical Theater. With flexible seasonal commitments, dancers can engage in specialized choreography projects that align with their interests and goals. Each piece is crafted with a unique performance journey—some will shine at dance competitions, others will tour to outside venues, and some will be showcased in our very own presentation space. Rooted in our philosophy of self-expression, teamwork, and artistic growth, Competition Teams provide a dynamic platform for dancers to develop their skills, gain confidence, and share their passion with the community.

Auditions & Requirements

The Performance Program requires discipline and dedication and is intended for those who choose dance as their primary focus. Serious consideration is encouraged before auditioning for the program as students are expected to prioritize their time accordingly.

Auditions will be held annually and require students to demonstrate proficiency in technique, acquired skill, and performance quality. Students may audition for both Momentum and Competition or just one.

If accepted into the Performance Program, the choice to participate in a performance, workshop, or related activity is commitment that must be planned for so that it can take precedence over any other social or extra-curricular activity.

Students who are accepted into the Performance Program will represent and serve as role models for the Ensemble Dance Collective to other students and at performances, competitions, and other events. Students will embody and reflect our school’s mission, philosophy, and spirit of teamwork. There is an expected commitment to the program from both students and parents. Courses of study in other dance programs should not conflict with the interests of Ensemble Dance Collective and should be discussed with the directors in advance.
